What is the community cabinet?

The Community Cabinet, located in downtown Alma in between Katie Tobias State Farm and Ballyhoo books, has been serving Gratiot County and local community residents since March of 2020. The Community Cabinet started with a small cabinet and over the past few years it has been transformed into a permanent, larger staple that aides the community that we have the opportunity to serve. Our mission statement is to “Take what you need; Leave what you don’t; Donate if you can” The vision for the Community Cabinet is to continue to support those is need in our local community.

Call to Action & why we need your help / partnership:

We are currently in a food crisis.  Our local school districts are at or close to 100% free and reduced lunch. Food assistance has been reduced as of March 2023. Along with the increased cost of groceries, this is leaving families in need.  This is the gap the Community Cabinet fills!

There is a HIGH demand for essentials and we are asking for your partnership by supporting this community resource to keep it thriving. When local business owners, organizations & community members collaborate, we have the opportunity to enhance this resource by showing support and love.
